This Privacy Policy explains how CitizenPrep ("the app", "we", "us") handles information. It covers the iPhone and iPad app distributed through the Apple App Store and the Android app distributed through Google Play. CitizenPrep is developed by IslaGames ("the developer").

## The short version

CitizenPrep does not collect, store, or transmit your personal information. There are no user accounts, no advertising, and no analytics or tracking of any kind. Everything you do in the app stays on your device.

## Information we do not collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, postal address, date of birth, photographs, contacts, calendar, location, or any government identification. We do not ask you to create an account or sign in. We do not use advertising identifiers, and we do not track you across apps or websites.

## Information stored on your device

The app stores the following locally on your device so that it can work. This information is never sent to us and we cannot see it:

- Your answers to practice questions, and whether each answer was correct
- Your study statistics: streaks, daily goal progress, readiness score and mock exam history
- The questions you have bookmarked
- Your chosen province or territory, daily goal, and reminder time
- Your test date, if you choose to enter one
- Any names you type into the "My local officials" screen

This data is held in the app's private storage area on your device. Deleting the app removes all of it permanently. You can also erase it at any time using "Reset my progress" in Settings.

On Android, this data is included in the system's own app backup if you have Google backup switched on for your device. That backup is made by Android between your device and your Google account; we have no access to it and cannot read it. You can turn it off in your device's backup settings.

## Purchases

CitizenPrep offers optional paid subscriptions and a one-time lifetime purchase.

On iPhone and iPad, purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment card details, billing address, or Apple Account credentials. To manage subscription status across your devices, the iOS app uses RevenueCat, Inc., a purchase infrastructure provider. When you make or restore a purchase, RevenueCat receives a randomly generated anonymous user identifier together with the purchase receipt issued by Apple. This identifier is not linked to your name, email address, or any other personal information, and we do not use it to identify you. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.

On Android, purchases are processed by Google through Google Play Billing. We never see or receive your payment card details, billing address, or Google account credentials. The Android app talks to Google Play directly and uses no third-party purchase service: your entitlement is read from Google Play on your own device and is not sent anywhere else.

Apple and Google may also share aggregate, anonymised sales and download reports with us through App Store Connect and the Play Console. These reports do not identify individual users.

## Notifications

If you turn on the daily study reminder, the app schedules a local notification on your device at the time you choose. Local notifications never leave your device and are not sent through any server. You can turn reminders off at any time in the app's Settings, or in your device's own system settings.

The Android app also shows a notification while Listen & Learn is reading questions aloud. That notification exists so the audio can keep playing with the screen off; it is created and dismissed entirely on your device.

## Network access

The app is designed to work fully offline. The only network requests it makes are those required to complete, verify or restore a purchase — through the App Store and RevenueCat on iOS, and through Google Play Billing on Android.

## Children

CitizenPrep is a study aid for a government examination and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

## Your rights

Because we do not collect or hold personal data about you, there is no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete on request. All the information the app produces is under your control on your own device. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a Canadian province with equivalent legislation, and you believe we hold information about you, contact us at the address below and we will respond.

## Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and change the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be described in the app's release notes.

## Text-to-speech (Android)

Listen & Learn uses the text-to-speech engine already installed on your device to read questions aloud. The text sent to it is the question and its explanation from the app's own study bank — never anything about you. Some devices use a Google speech engine that may process this text; that behaviour is controlled by your device's settings, not by CitizenPrep.
